No field turf for Bryant-Denny

by tommy.deas

What would offseason football be without the rumor mill?
The University of Alabama has had exactly one spring practice and players are now taking off a week for spring break, but rumors never take a day off.
The latest one to gain momentum regarding UA football is that field turf, or some form of artificial turf, will be installed at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Not going to happen, according to Thad Turnipseed, UA’s director of athletic facilities.
“Zero chance,” he said. “It hasn’t even been discussed.”
So much for that, but I’m sure there will be other rumors to track down as the offseason progresses.

I was hoping there would be a little more information regarding the upgrades at BDS. There’s another rumor that the two current video screens are being replaced, plus two more added. Is this true? If so, will they be similar in size, larger perhaps? Anything else you can tell us about the new addition? Thanks

That’s good news. At least the grass moving people will not lose their jobs !

well they need to get new grass on the field cause it looked bad last year, like a beach so much sand was on it, and late in the season there were more bare spots than grass.
